LindowsOS General Release Right Around the Corner

As most of you know, the Lindows.com staff and Insiders have been hard at work this past year getting ready for the General Release version of LindowsOS.  This is the much-anticipated version that makes it possible for almost any computer user to install and run LindowsOS.  Once installed, these users can then install and run hundreds of software programs, with just one click of their mouse, from the Click-N-Run Warehouse.  As we approach the final few weeks before this release, we are pleased to share with you some important milestones concerning the upcoming availability of the LindowsOS General Release.

LindowsOS 3.0 Membership Edition Double-CD Package

LindowsOS 3.0 Membership Edition to be released in mid-November

We're announcing our plans to release the LindowsOS 3.0 Membership Edition in the middle of November, just a few short weeks away!  This release is intended for dissemination beyond the early adopter crowd and is suitable for installation on modern PCs by almost anyone. The LindowsOS 3.0 Membership Edition, formerly referenced as the "General Release," will come as a two-CD collection and also includes a full-color QuickStart manual to reference during the installation and setup process.

One significant new feature included with the LindowsOS 3.0 Membership Edition is Click-N-Run Express(TM), which comes on the second CD. This new feature provides lightening quick installs for many of the most popular Click-N-Run Warehouse programs - even for modem users with a slow Internet connection. For example, Click-N-Run Express allows modem users to install an entire office suite, such as StarOffice, in around two minutes!

With the help of our Insiders, we've been troubleshooting the LindowsOS software on thousands of computers to ensure support for the widest variety of computer equipment. While computer software is always in development, LindowsOS 3.0 will be a solid product for the majority of computing tasks.

LindowsOS 3.O Membership Edition Pricing

The release of LindowsOS 3.0 Membership Edition will bring some new pricing options. Visitors to the Lindows.com website will be able to purchase the double CD Membership Edition for $129 (plus s/h) which includes: LindowsOS 3.0, Click-N-Run Express, a year membership to the Click-N-Run Warehouse, and immediate digital access to the software from our high-speed servers.

Those interested in only the digital product can save $10, as well as any shipping costs, by paying just $119 for the digital version of the LindowsOS 3.0 Membership Edition.

As always, all LindowsOS users have a lifetime license for any software installed using Click-N-Run during their membership period.

Special $99 Insider Pricing ending!

If you have been considering signing up for the Insider's program for just $99, you'll need to hurry, as the $99 Insider's program will be ending in a few weeks with the release of LindowsOS 3.0.

Even if you haven't been interested in testing earlier versions, joining the Insider's Program is the most economical way to obtain version 3.0 and a Click-N-Run membership. As a special bonus, and to thank our valued Insiders, they receive a TWO-year membership to the Click-N-Run Warehouse, rather than the normal one year.

Again, you'll need to hurry.  The $99 Insider's program will be ending in November!

Without feedback and guidance of our tenacious Insiders, we wouldn't have arrived at our general release this quickly. Thanks to those of you who have offered us great insights and assistance in the development of LindowsOS.

Sincerely,

Michael Robertson

As a special thank you to all our Insiders for helping us shape the direction of LindowsOS, we are allowing free admission to Desktop Linux Summit.
